Being a female in a male-dominated industry isn’t easy. Kris Crawford, VP Marketing at The Media Trust, believes that women bring invaluable skillsets to cybersecurity by providing a different perspective–one that’s need now more than ever. Sadly, the reality is that women are often times objectified in the digital environment, making them uncomfortable in this space to begin with. To attract women to careers in cybersecurity, and to keep them in the tech workforce, companies need to make them feel safe. A big first step in fostering digital safety is to set clear policies on what is allowed in their digital environments, including the creatives they use in websites, apps, and marketing campaigns.
