JavaScript/Technical Analyst

Job Description
We’re looking for a Java Script expert at The Media Trust. This position is responsible for detecting and analyzing JavaScript components of web applications for the purposes of identifying anomalous activity.

The responsibilities are diverse and include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform web traffic data setup, capture and scan analysis as part of web application processes using TMT systems. 
  • Analyze scan data to identify and classify all JavaScript files executed in the delivery of the web application.
  • Ability to interrupt, synthesize and articulate Javascript purpose, particularly as it relates to suspicious activity and intent. 
  • Organize and document scan and JavaScript data (libraries, versions, etc). 
  • Develop and deliver client reports consisting of proprietary and non-proprietary JavaScript library data found in code files. 
  • Work with technical engineers to recommend process improvements and automation opportunities related to JavaSrcipt scan, classification and reporting.   
  • Assist with developing and delivering recommendations to the clients on how to improve the security posture of their website.


  • Advanced understanding of JavaScript and Web Application development tools and technologies (web app architecture, user interface, Node.js, .NET, PHP, etc.)
  • Ability to determine the intent of JavaScript identified through scanning and its purpose context of the web/mobile applications.
  • Understanding the difference between open source JavaScript libraries and self-hosted, proprietary JavaScript files
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced ability to present complicated concepts to clients without a technical background.
  • Capable of managing multiple competing priorities while achieving the desired project/deliverable outcomes.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced organization. 
  • Ability to work independently to solve complex issues as well as within a team structured environment. 
  • Proficiency in using MS Office-type software applications for documentation, reporting, and presentation.
